This Photo of an Empty Hall Could Make You a Fortune

Last November, I walked into a conference hall in Lisbon, Portugal, five minutes before the event’s start.

But the sight inside made me wonder if I’d walked into the wrong room.

Rows of chairs sat untouched. The projector buzzed quietly. A handful of people milled around, checking their phones.

It was the 2024 Crypto AI Conference – an event focused on merging blockchain and artificial intelligence.

And yet, almost no one was there.

At that moment, I knew I was standing at the starting line of something huge.

Because what I saw in Lisbon reminded me of a story Daily Editor Teeka Tiwari once told me – back when he first stumbled onto bitcoin.

He showed me a now-famous photo from the 2013 Bitcoin Conference in San Jose, California. On stage stood a young Andreas Antonopoulos – one of bitcoin’s earliest advocates – speaking to a nearly empty room.

At the time, bitcoin was trading around $120. Nobody cared.

But imagine being one of the five people in that photo who decided to listen – and invest a thousand dollars in BTC. At its peak in October 2025, you’d be sitting on $1.05 million.

And standing in that nearly empty conference hall, I realized I was witnessing the same pattern play out again. A moment that – years from now – people will look back on and say, “That’s when it all began.”

It might not look like much now… But I believe the photo I took in November 2024 will one day be as legendary as that Antonopoulos image above.

Most dismissed it. But I knew what was coming.
