I’m Walking Away From a Crypto Sector I’ve Covered for Years

Wednesday, I’ll show you why.

In 2016, people thought I had lost my mind.

I wanted to tell my readers to buy bitcoin at around $400-and-change.

My publisher threatened to fire me if I ran the research.

I ran it anyway.

At the time, that reaction made sense to a lot of people. Bitcoin was still something most investors dismissed as a fad, a scam or a hobby for computer geeks.

I saw something different.

And I was willing to look crazy because I believed the evidence in front of me mattered more than what everybody else thought.

Since then, bitcoin has traded as high as roughly $126,000. From around $430, that was a peak gain of more than 29,000%.

And bitcoin has grown into one of the largest assets on the planet, with a market value of roughly $1.55 trillion today — bigger than Berkshire Hathaway and right alongside Tesla and Meta.

Now, more than 10 years later, some people are going to think I have lost my mind again.

This time, it’s because I’m quitting an important sector of the crypto market I’ve personally traded for years.

I know how strange that sounds coming from me.

So before I tell you why I’m doing it, I want to show you what has been happening in bitcoin.

Once you see it, you’ll understand why I started looking at this market differently.
